Artist Assistantship: Angiola Churchill
In July 2009, Oogie Art students traveled to Korea to participate in the 2009 Incheon Women Artists' Biennale as part of the Oogie Art Leadership Through Art program. They assisted Angiola Churchill, former Head of NYU’s Art Department, in installing her pivotal work, "Pandora's Box II." This piece reimagines the Greek myth by portraying women as the bearers of virtues such as compassion, patience, and devotion.
After the Biennale, the students, along with Angiola Churchill, explored some of Seoul’s most prestigious art spaces, including the Leeum, Samsung Museum of Art, and major contemporary galleries. This program provided students with hands-on experience in the global art world while developing their leadership and artistic skills through cultural exposure.
