Art and Architecture Research

In August 2009, as part of the Oogie Art and Architecture Research Program, students embarked on an enriching journey to Spain to explore the works of iconic artists and architects. The trip focused on the architecture of Antonio Gaudi, as well as visits to world-renowned art institutions such as the Fundació Joan Miró, Museu Picasso, and the Dalí Museum in Figueres. This immersive experience provided students with a deep understanding of Spain's artistic heritage and architectural marvels.

Shortly after, the students flew to Venice to attend the prestigious 53rd Venice Biennale, one of the world’s most important contemporary art events. In addition to experiencing cutting-edge modern art, the students visited the private studio of Angiola Churchill, the founder and director of NYU's Master of Fine Arts program and former head of the art department. This unique opportunity allowed students to explore both classical and contemporary art and architecture, developing their artistic vision and leadership skills through global exposure.
