Teaching Art & Mural Painting
In late March 2010, Oogie Art students traveled to Ipoh, Malaysia, as part of the Leadership Through Art program. The mission was to provide meaningful support to the children of Rumah Wawasan and Vision Homes by awarding laptops, art supplies, and scholarships for higher education. During their stay, Oogie Art students collaborated with local children to paint three large wall murals titled "Hope," "Dream," and "Love." These murals were designed to inspire and bring a sense of joy to the community.
Each morning, students and orphans worked together on the murals, while the afternoons were spent teaching art and creative skills. This hands-on program not only fostered artistic expression but also helped develop leadership and teamwork among students. The experience was a powerful example of how art can be used as a tool for empowerment, connecting cultures, and making a positive impact on communities in need.
